As an integral component of the 141 curriculum,
students will fly various phase checks with either
the chief instructor
or an assistant chief instructor. For example,
there are five phase checks conducted as part
of the private pilot program.
These phase checks serve several purposes. First,
they are not instructional but are intended to
give students an
independent evaluation of their skills from a
senior instructor so that they may concentrate
on areas that require
improvement.

of flight instruction being provided.
